About the Inklings

Inklings was a literary discussion group that boasted members such as J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis.  They met Thursdays from the early 1930s through the 1960s, starting at the University of Oxford, but often migrating to the Eagle and Child pub.  While they were devoted to refining their manuscripts, the group was better known for their raucous sense of humor.

About this Inkling

I wanted to be a professional reader when I grew up, and much to my surprise, I found a way through editing, book design, and indexing!

I have a BA in International Affairs and Spanish from Eastern Washington University, and a MS in Writing/Book Publishing from Portland State University. I am a member of Women in Portland Publishing, Willamette Writers, and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.

When I'm not reading or working, I am writing my first children's book and reading with third graders at Lewis and Clark Elementary. If there's time, I like to sew and run. I have climbed Mt. Fuji in Japan, discovered Federico Garcia Lorca's home in Spain, visited the Shakespeare & Company bookstore in Paris, but sadly failed to make it to Timbuktu while I was in Mali. I now live in Columbia City, Oregon, with two rambunctious mini-schnauzers.
